Bashir Memon appointed AJK IGP

The government has appointed Bashir Memon as new Inspector General Police (IGP) of Azad Jammu and Kashmir vice Khuda Bux Awan.
The new IGP of Azad Kashmir called on Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday and sought his guidance for the new assignment.
Bashir Memon hails from Hala (Sindh) and known upright and honest officer of the police service who was till recently Joint Director Intelligence Bureau (JDIB) in Rawalpindi. He is the first police officer belonging to Sindh who will be assuming the top police slot in Azad Kashmir where the law and order situation has been deteriorating.
Bashir Memon will assume his new assignment next week and first task before him would be improvement in law and order
situation in the area and holding of upcoming polls
in Azad Kashmir in peace-
