ISLAMABAD: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) Parliamentary leader in the National Assembly, Dr Farooq Sattar Tuesday likened the manner in which the country is being run to the way the main characters of the TV play ‘Mera Sultan’ run the affairs of a kingdom.
“This country is not a personal property of any individual … It belongs to its 180 million people,” said Farooq Sattar while speaking from the floor of the National Assembly.
He regretted that the country is being like ‘Mera Sultan’ TV play. “One state belongs to Sumbal Agha, another to Mah-e-Dora while one to Hooram Sultan.”
Dr Farooq Sattar said the government policies are meant to favour the elites; they are not for the poor man.
He said the prices of petroleum products were brought down by only 5 percent. In fact they should have been slashed by at least 20 to 25 percent, he added.
