KOTLI: Prime Minister Azad Kashmir, Chaudhry Abdul Majeed on Sunday condemned the Nakial incident and announced to observe Monday as a day of mourning across AJK.
At a press conference, the AJK PM vowed not to let any conspiracy to postpone the elections succeed.
Shops and other business activities remained shut all over AJK on Sunday, a day after a clash between activists of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-N in which a worker of PPP had lost his life.
Police rounded up 11 workers of PML-N today while 15 were taken into custody on Saturday in raids conducted in different parts of the valley.
Section 144 has been put in place in AJK while the PPP has announced to observe Monday as a black day.
All the arrested men have been shifted to Kotli while contingents of police and army have brought the law and order situation under control.
Police have registered a case against 70 people over the killing of a PPP worker and hurling of stones.
Farooq Sikander, the son of former prime minister AJK Sikandar Hayat, has also been nominated in the case.
