PM Nawaz arrives in Karachi, will chair high-level meeting

KARACHI: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif arrived in Karachi on Friday at the Governor House.

He will chair a high-level meeting to review the law and order situation in Karachi.

Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad, Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah and top officials of Rangers and other law enforcement agencies will also attend the meeting.

The ongoing operation to eradicate Karachi of criminals and terrorists and other important issues are expected to come under discussion at the meeting.

Sources said that there is a possibility that an initial probe report of Sohail Ahmed’s alleged extra-judicial murder would be presented to the PM.

In a telephonic conversation on Thursday with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Babar Ghauri, PM Nawaz said that he will bring to justice those involved in the killing of slain MQM worker Sohail Ahmed.

The PM while conveying his condolences said that he would be coming to Karachi and will meet with the family of the late MQM worker.
