ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is set to leave for Qatar on a two-day official visit on Wednesday.
The prime minister is visiting Qatar on the invitation of Qatar Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high level delegation.
During the visit, the Prime Minister will have meetings with the Emir Qatar and key members of Qatari cabinet besides signing a number of Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs).
The two sides would also hold wide ranging delegation level talks.
A number of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) in the field of health, radio, television, education, research and a long term sale purchase agreement (SPA) of LNG would be concluded by both sides, said the foreign office in a press release today.
The main focus of the Prime Minister’s visit and interaction with the Qatari leadership will be on further enhancement of bilateral relations in various fields including energy, cooperation, trade and investment, defence and increase in employment opportunities for the Pakistani workforce in Qatar.
Both leaders would also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The Emir of the State of Qatar had paid a landmark visit to Pakistan on 23-24 March 2015.
This return visit by the Prime Minister in a period of less than one year is a testimony of growing relations between the two brotherly countries.
Qatar hosts more than 115,000 Pakistanis who have been contributing towards the development and prosperity of the country and act as a bridge between the peoples of two brotherly countries.
