KARACHI: Pakistan's most wanted criminal, gang-war mastermind Uzair Baloch's custody matter hangs in limbo, a month after he was arrested by UAE authorities travelling under fraudulent papers.
Sources confirm, the police party was to travel from Karachi to Dubai to take custody of Baloch one week ago, but as yet has not departed.
According to SSP Naveed Khwaja, the federal government is still in correspondence with the UAE authorities and has as yet not received a green signal from the Interpol.
Meanwhile the Pakistani Consulate in Dubai maintains, that the Interpol has sought documents regarding Uzair Baloch.
Officials claim, required documents have already been provided and are now awaiting a green signal.
It is also being rumoured that Uzair Baloch is preparing for an appeal against his detention.
Baloch was travelling under an assumed identity with the name Abdul Ghani Khuda Bukhsh.
