LAHORE: Describing terrorists’ threats as a routine affair, the Punjab Law Minister, Rana Sanaullah on Thursday said the actual reason behind closure of schools is extreme cold weather and not the threats.
Addressing a meeting focusing on the security of schools, Rana Sanaullah said: “We keep receiving threats and soon the schools will reopen.”
He said special attention is being directed towards the security of educational institutions. “The Chief Minister (Punjab) has himself reviewed the security of schools. There were intelligence reports that terrorists from across the border could strike again,” he added.
Rana Sanaullah said ‘those on the other side of the border’ are upset with the progress of the Punjab.
He said turning China-Pakistan Economic Corridor into a ‘Kalabagh Dam’ would be tantamount to animosity.
The provincial Law Minister said the local government departments will be given its legitimate powers.
