IGP Sindh constitutes teams to investigate Jacobabad attack

KARACHI/JACOBABAD: Inspector General of Police (Sindh) G. H.Jamali on Saturday constituted 2 separate teams to probe the bomb attack in Jacobabad in which 24 people including nine children were martyred.
According to police sources, a high level Investigation team has been constituted under Addl. IG CTD, Dr.Sanaullah Abbasi. The Forensic Division of the Sindh Police will be assisting the investigation team. The team has already departed for Jacobabad.
The second team, a fact-finding committee has also been constituted under DIG Larkana whereas, SSP of Jacobabad, Shikarpur, Larkana and SSP Special Branch are members of the team. The team has been directed to ascertain the causes of blast and to fix the responsibility with regards to any negligence.

At least 24 people were martyred in a blast targeting a 9th Muharram procession near 'Lashari' neighbourhood of Jacobabad on Friday evening. Police confirmed 40 others including several children were injured in the attack.
According to SSP Zafar Malik appeared to be a suicide attack.
