ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Wednesday reiterated that a historic rigging was witnessed in the 2013 general election and he should have stood against the injustice a lot earlier.
Speaking at an Ulema conference here, he said that democracy would never take roots in a country where polls are rigged. “How can a government coming in power by stealing public mandate provide justice to the masses?” he questioned.
Khan said clerics in the country have not played their due role in curbing injustice prevailing in the society. “A tiny segment of the society has been looting the country and Ulema must raise their voice against this atrocity,” he said.
The cricketer-turned-politician further said that a man with strong faith can never be bought. “We would never succeed until overcoming our fears,” he added.
