LAHORE: A day before the by-election in the all important NA-122 constituency, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Saturday wrote a letter to the chief election commissioner, alleging Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif of being involved in violation of poll laws.
The letter was sent by PTI’s central secretary of information Naeemul Haque, in which he expressed reservations over what he claimed violation of election code of conduct by the ruling PML-N.
It was said that the prime minister and the chief minister were also involved in the alleged violations.
The PTI urged the head of Pakistan’s electoral body to take stern action against those involved in alleged violation of code of conduct and supervise the electoral process in the NA-122 by-poll on Sunday.
It is pertinent to mention here that the party has been vocal about its reservations over ECP’s Punjab member Riaz Kiani.
