KARACHI: Asif Ali Zardari and his son Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari are likely to run two separate parties rather than being Chairman and Co-Chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), sources told Geo News on Sunday.

Bilawal is poised to head the PPP while his father is likely to be made president of PPP-Parliamentarians (PPPP), said the sources.

An official announcement in this regard will be made after the meeting of party’s central executive committee (CEC) in January, 2016.

The sources are also hinting massive restructuring in all administrative units of the party.

However, the final decision on any recommendation would only be taken by the CEC, former prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf said.

He vowed to restore the party’s lost glory by making it stronger at all platforms.

The likely decision comes to fore following earlier reports of differences between the two and Zardari calling Bilawal ‘immature’.

The former president of Pakistan had said in April earlier this year that his son was under training in London, adding that he was still in his youth and needed to mature before his re-launch on the political stage.
