LAHORE: Former Punjab chief minister (CM) Chaudhry Pervez Elahi on Thursday accused the provincial government of wasting billions of rupees on power projects.
Addressing a press conference here in Muslim League house, the former Punjab CM said Sharif brothers had made huge claims in connection with Nandipur power project but ended up wasting billions of rupees due to sloppy planning.
He demanded of the government to carry out Karachi-like operation in Lahore. “The outcome of such an operation would make people forget the crackdown in Sindh’s provincial capital,” he added.
He said Sharif brothers had raised hue and cry over the rental power projects (RPPs) but today they are executing the same projects only under different names.
Criticizing the development projects launched by the government, Pervez Elahi appreciated the media for what he said bringing the facts before people. He asked the Punjab government to have courage to face the truth.
