PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak on Monday claimed that police performance has witnessed marked improvement in the wake of what he called the elimination of political interference in the police department.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony of Police Information Technology School, the KPK CM further claimed that the opposition has also appreciated the police reforms, adding the construction of Information Technology schools is a step towards putting the police force on modern lines.
He said police had no intelligence mechanism in the past but now it possessed not only this but also the record system. "The police has become an organized force", Khattak added.
Khattak added that what actually brought a bad name to the entire police force is the traffic police, saying traffic warden system would soon be imposed in the Peshawar city.
He also announced to set up 100 reporting rooms across the province.
