ISLAMBAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan on Thursday said fearlessness is a hallmark of real leaders and such leaders never hold ‘secret meetings’.
“Today Pakistan is in dire need of (such) leadership,” Imran Khan said in his speech at South Asia Middle East Conclave here.
Imran Khan’s remarks come a day after reports carried by a section of Indian media that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had held a ‘secret meeting’ with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on the sidelines of South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) summit in Kathmandu in 2014.
However, the reports were later denied outright by the Pakistani government’s spokesman.
Imran Khan said names of some politicians came up in the investigations probing the sources of terrorists’ financing. But, he regretted, that when exposed, these politicians joined hands and the investigation came to a halt.
