KARACHI: A woman, who claimed her son was abducted by a policeman from Surjani Town, on Tuesday staged a protest before Inspector General of Police (IGP) Ghulam Haider Jamali outside Sindh High Court.
The woman has alleged that her son, Kamran Qazi, had been abducted two weeks ago by a policeman named Tariq, who she said is posted in Surjani Town police station.
The woman said the policeman kept asking for bribe in exchange for releasing his son and that he has taken money from her three times. First she gave him Rs20,000, then Rs32,500 and Rs50,000.
"Even after paying such a huge amount of money, my son is not being released,” she said, adding, ‘instead my son has been nominated in a fabricated case of murder’.
She requested the IGP to help her in getting her son released, however, IGP Ghulam Haider Jamali left the Sindh High Court (SHC) building in his car without paying any attention.
