LAHORE: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) leader Siraj ul Haq Monday said everything is expensive in the country except blood and death.
Addressing a ceremony in Mansoora degree college, Siraj ul Haq underlined the need for a revolution for breaking the status quo.
He said everyone should be held accountable without any discrimination and the process of accountability must be transparent and visible to all.
The JI leader said only those with unblemished character can hold others to account in the country. "Does the nation want snakes and scorpions to rule the next generations?", Siraj said.
Sirajul Haq said the system needs to be reformed through the power of vote.
He described politics as a game that is played with and for money.
“It is impossible for a son of the poor to contest elections,” he said, regretting, the democracy could not flourish due to the bad performance of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
