LARKANA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday said Islam is the true identity for Pakistanis all across the globe and vowed not to let Pakistan become a ‘liberal’ state.
Addressing a ‘Shuhada-e-Islam Conference’ here, Maulana Fazl said the West was bent upon isolating Pakistan, adding that the country came into existence on the basis of an ideology, which he said was not something that changes every other day.
The JUI-F chief said the entire Europe in the lead of the US has stood against Islam.
“Islam is being projected before the world as an extremist religion. The West has purposely misinterpreted Islam,” he maintained.
He said the champions of peace have wreaked havoc in Afghanistan and Iraq. They have disrupted peace in Yemen, Egypt, Libya and Syria, he added.
Maulana Rehman said he was concerned over escalating tensions between Turkey and Russia.
