PESHAWAR: The third and last phase of local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been completed successfully.
According to the Election Commission, elections for Districts and Tehsil Nazims and Naib Nazims were held on Sunday in the province in a peaceful and friendly atmosphere.
The Election Commission thanked the provincial government and the political parties for their cooperation in holding the local bodies' elections.
According to unofficial results of the elections for 23 Districts and Tehsil Nazims and Naib Nazims in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secured victory in nine districts.
Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) won in four districts each.
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Awami National Party (ANP) and Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) remained victorious in two districts each.
