Murtaza Javed Abbasi becomes acting Speaker of National Assembly
ISLAMABAD: Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi became the acting Speaker of the National Assembly on Monday after the Election Commission of Pakistan denotified Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
Abbasi took over responsibilities of the speaker after Ayaz Sadiq was denotified following the election tribunal’s verdict regarding alleged rigging in NA-122 where Sadiq had defeated Imran Khan to be elected

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi became the acting Speaker of the National Assembly on Monday after the Election Commission of Pakistan denotified Sardar Ayaz Sadiq.
Abbasi took over responsibilities of the speaker after Ayaz Sadiq was denotified following the election tribunal’s verdict regarding alleged rigging in NA-122 where Sadiq had defeated Imran Khan to be elected to the assembly.
Murtaza Javed Abbasi was elected to the assembly from NA-18 Abbotabad in the 2013 general elections.
