ECP announces schedule for three phased LG polls in Punjab, Sindh
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced on Friday, a three phased programme for holding Local Government elections in Punjab and Sindh.
The ECP has extended the schedule at the request of the two provincial governments as law-enforcement agencies would be engaged in connection with Muharram.

ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) announced on Friday, a three phased programme for holding Local Government elections in Punjab and Sindh.
The ECP has extended the schedule at the request of the two provincial governments as law-enforcement agencies would be engaged in connection with Muharram.
According to the new schedule announced today, polling for first phase of LG elections in Punjab and Sindh would be held on October 31 this year, instead of the earlier announced date of Oct 12.
The detailed and formal schedule announcement for the first phase would take place on August 26.
According to ECP, nomination papers would be filed with the Returning Officers from September 7 to September 11, while scrutiny of nomination papers would be held from September 13 to September 18.
The ECP also said that polling for second phase would be held on November 19, while polling for third phase would be held on December 3.
