LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Q leader, Chaudhry Pervez Elahi on Thursday accused Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) of making PML-Q members defect and join PTI and at the same time weakening the opposition.
However, the PTI is of the view that it was not forcing anyone to come into its folds.
Talking to media persons here, Pervez Elahi said: “The opposition parties should stand by one another, as PTI was undermining the opposition and strengthening the government.”
He also accused PTI of luring some of the leaders using the bait of party tickets.
Reacting to this PTI leader Aijaz Chaudhry said people were joining PTI at their own will. “We will ask Pervez Elahi as to how anyone can be forcefully made to leave his party,” he added.
Denying the PML-Q’s accusations, he said PTI was not engaged in forcing anyone to join it and that Q-league’s reservations will be addressed.
He further said that this is not the first time when such doubts have been cast regarding the PTI. “Chaudhry Pervez Elahi had expressed similar views on August 14,” he said.
