KARACHI: It took eighteen months for the Sindh Anti Corruption Committee to wake up, but since it has awoken corrupt officials have not been sleeping well. The committee has already registered cases against 55 corrupt officials and has ordered their arrest.
The Anti-Corruption Committee met under the chair of Chief Secretary Sindh Siddiqui Memon where the approvals to arrest 55 corrupt Sindh government officials was given as well as orders to initiate investigations in 25 cases.
The officials that are under the microscope include the present and previous Medical Superintendents of Civil Hospital Hyderabad, five engineers of the Karachi Water Board, former District Health Officer Mirpur Khas, former Regional Director Education for district Sukkur, former Nazim of Jacobabad taluka Thal among others.
The Anti-Corruption Committee has given approvals to arrest 25 officers of the local government department, 5 officers of the health department and 25 officers of the education department for their involvement in corruption.
