ATC allows MQM’s Amir Khan to perform Hajj
KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court on Monday allowed Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Amir Khan to perform Hajj.
The court directed Amir Khan to submit two surety bonds each worth Rs1 million, adding that if he failed to return in one month, the submitted amount will be confiscated.

KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court on Monday allowed Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) leader Amir Khan to perform Hajj.
The court directed Amir Khan to submit two surety bonds each worth Rs1 million, adding that if he failed to return in one month, the submitted amount will be confiscated.
The court had reserved its ruling till Monday, August 17, on the plea of Amir Khan seeking the court’s permission to allow him to travel to Saudi Arabia for performing Hajj.
The ATC-II after hearing the application of Amir Khan had directed him to submit the details of his Hajj registration application.
The MQM leader had been granted bail by the anti-terrorism court in a case pertaining to alleged facilitation of targeted killing suspects and other heinous crimes. He had filed a plea stating that he wanted to perform Hajj and should be exempted from appearing in court.
He was arrested and remained in Rangers custody for 90 days after the raid on MQM headquarters on March 11.
