KARACHI: Another case of irregularity on the part of National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has come to the attention of the media.
This time around, NADRA has included names of seven Afghani nationals, including two females, into the family tree of a couple belonging to Kutchi Memon community.
The irregularity was disclosed in a report prepared by intelligence agencies and presented to the Ministry of Interior.
A few days ago, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), having learned that CNICs of foreign nationals were being prepared by NADRA, raided its office in Keamari area. They apprehended one of its officials and during investigation it has now been disclosed that in the first case of record tampering a foreigner named Abdullah was included in the family tree of Muhammad Yousuf, a resident of Malir. Later, two women including six Afghani nationals were made part of his family tree.
In reality, Muhammad Yousuf’s wife had passed away and he is a father of four sons and three daughters. The tampered record shows that Muhammad Yousuf has two wives and four more sons.
FIA has in a written communication to NADRA sought explanation of this case.
Six more FIRs are being registered against NADRA officials.
