Buyers of ‘china-cutting’ plots receive notices as probe kicks off in Karachi

KARACHI: An investigation relating to china-cutting – a term often used for illegal plotting and sale of the state’s land – has practically commenced in the city as buyers of such plots started receiving notices from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday.

Residents of Surjani Town neighbourhood received the notices in the first phase of the operation.

KARACHI: An investigation relating to china-cutting – a term often used for illegal plotting and sale of the state’s land – has practically commenced in the city as buyers of such plots started receiving notices from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Friday.

Residents of Surjani Town neighbourhood received the notices in the first phase of the operation.

Action against Karachi Development Authority (KDA) officials would be taken after getting further information by summoning buyers of the china-cutting plots.

Over 2,500 files relating to china-cutting have also been handed over to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) also.
