Sindh Assembly approves resolution against blasphemous caricatures
KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly on Wednesday approved a resolution against blasphemous caricatures published by a French magazine.
The resolution was tabled by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Sohrab Sarki. Prior to this the MQM called for their MPA Sardar Ahmed’s resolution on blasphemy to be tabled.

KARACHI: The Sindh Assembly on Wednesday approved a resolution against blasphemous caricatures published by a French magazine.
The resolution was tabled by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA Sohrab Sarki. Prior to this the MQM called for their MPA Sardar Ahmed’s resolution on blasphemy to be tabled.
Debating on the MQM's resolution, MPAs said no Muslim could tolerate insult of the Prophet (PBUH).
The resolution tabled by the MQM MPA said the blasphemous caricatures were a violation of international law. Lawmakers from the PPP and PML-F also joined in the resolution.
Parliamentarians of the Sindh Assembly condemned the blasphemous caricatures and demanded the United Nations (UN) and Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) initiate proceedings for actions against this.
The resolution was approved unanimously and the Sindh Assembly session has been adjourned till Thursday.
