NEWDELHI: Minister for Defence Production Rana Tanveer Hussain in an interview to Hindustan Times said the Pakistan cannot outlaw Hafiz Saeed-led Jamaat-ud-Dawah (JuD) ‘because it is a charitable not terrorist organization’.
In an exclusive interview to Hindustan Times, Rana Tanveer Hussain said the Pakistani government was looking to ban terror organizations but JuD is ‘a charitable organization’ and the government has no evidence against Hafiz Saeed and his group.
He was quoted as saying, “Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) has been banned in Pakistan and the government has found no connections between the Hafiz Saeed’s JuD and LeT”.
“I also supported the JuD chief’s call for liberating and even I refer to Kashmir as our inalienable part. Tomorrow you will ask for a ban against me and all Pakistanis who support the freedom struggle in Kashmir”, Tanveer told Hindustan Times.
