SBP seeks details of all NGO bank accounts, international funding
KARACHI: The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Sunday has sought details of bank accounts of all Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in Pakistan.
The SBP has directed all banks for the relevant information including details of international funding from various countries as well.
The move is being done in the light of the recent orders of the Supreme Court (SC) regarding NGO regulations.

The SBP has directed all banks for the relevant information including details of international funding from various countries as well.
The move is being done in the light of the recent orders of the Supreme Court (SC) regarding NGO regulations.
On June 23, the SC summoned details of NGOs operating in Pakistan.
The apex court directed the federal and provincial governments to provide details regarding NGOs. The court also sought the registration and monitoring mechanism for NGOs along with details of funding.
