LAHORE: Renowned Urdu novelist and writer of novel 'Udas Naslain', Abdullah Hussain died in Lahore this morning (Saturday). He was 84.
Abdullah Hussain was suffering from blood cancer for a long time. He was admitted at a private hospital in Defence Lahore and was shifted home a few days back, where he died today.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Abdullah Hassain.
In his message to the bereaved family, the Prime Minister extended his heartfelt condolences while lauding the services rendered by him for promotion of the national language and enrichment of Urdu literature.
He described his death as a loss to the nation especially the literary circles according, to a PM House statement.
The Prime Minister prayed that Allah Almighty may rest the departed soul in eternal peace and grant patience to the family to bear this loss.
