QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) arrested 16 smugglers in Shela Bagh area of Qilla Abdullah district during an operation on Friday.
According to an FC spokesperson, FC and railway police conducted an operation against smugglers hiding in Chaman Express, a passenger train travelling from Chaman to Quetta.
The smugglers in reaction took hostage the train driver, crew and passengers and stoned the security forces.
They also directed the train towards Quetta but were eventually stopped and arrested at Shela Bagh station where their smuggled goods were also confiscated.
Meanwhile, FC also arrested four terrorists of a banned outfit during a search operation in Sariab area of Quetta today.
