LAHORE: Two federal ministers have admitted negligence on the government’s part for non-availability of petrol to the consumers while the concerned minister has offered to tender resignation over the issue.
Admitting the government’s negligence, Khawaja Saad Rafique blamed the Ministry of Petroleum for the crisis. He said he is not only ashamed over the plight of the masses but also not ready to accept the explanations being offered for the problem at hand.
Earlier, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar also came forward and minced no words in acknowledging the government’s administrative dereliction.
The clear admission of negligence by the two Federal ministers comes even before the matter is taken up by the Cabinet.
The only thing that the Minister for Petroleum, Shahid Khaqan Abbai, awaits now is the establishment of fault.
Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif also took notice of the crisis and ordered a probe into the shortage.
On Saturday, the PM had suspended Federal Secretary Petroleum Abid Saeed, Additional Secretary Naeem Malik, DG oil Muhammad Azam and PSO Managing Director Amjad Janjua.
