KARACHI: Residents of the city have been struggling with the worst heatwave in decades and now they can breathe a sigh of relief.
Parts of the city received light rain on Monday turning the weather pleasant. Rain was received in Orangi Town, North Nazimabad and F.B. Area.
At least 257 people have died due to the current heatwave during the last three days in Karachi.
The port city of Sindh still sizzles for a third consecutive day on Monday with the temperature at 36 degree Celsius, expected to reach a high of 43 degree Celsius.
On Friday, temperature rose to 45 degrees Celsius in the metropolis.
Temperatures in other cities of the province such as Dadu, Sehwan and Larkana reached a scorching 39 degree Celsius.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (MET), the monsoon system would enter the province tomorrow and rain is expected in Karachi as well as other coastal areas.
