ISLAMABAD: Leader of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Talal Chaudhry Wednesday termed the local government re-election offer by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan as confession to crime.
Talking to media persons, following today’s proceedings by the commission probing into the alleged rigging of polls, the PML-N leader said Imran Khan himself went on air expressing his willingness to hold LG re-election. “This is tantamount to a confession to the crime,” he added.
Talal Chaudhry said a confession leads to punishment and only after that one can talk about holding a re-election.
He said Imran Khan voiced a hue and cry over the alleged rigging of 2013 general elections but failed to submit any evidence in support of his claims.
He added that the proof of PTI ‘rigging’ the local government elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is before everyone’s eye.
However, PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmood Qureshi says that his party has handed over ‘concrete’ evidence of rigging to the judicial commission. He further said that his party is satisfied with the proceedings conducted by the commission so far.
