KARACHI: Chairman Senate, Mian Raza Rabbani on Thursday while ruling out a defeat of terrorism with the help of ‘arms and security agencies’ stressed that the country can only be saved through national unity.
Addressing the 10th Consumer Choice Award ceremony here, Raza Rabbani said instead of making Pakistan a security state, efforts should be made to transform the country into a welfare state.
“Pakistan was supposed to become a welfare and progressive state but, unfortunately, this dream of Quaid-e-Azam could not be materialized,” he regretted.
He complained that whenever anything goes wrong it is directly pinned on the 18th amendment of the Constitution while the provincial governments always feel reluctant to take part in Council of Common Interest (CCI).
