Ayyan’s remand extended till May 28, refuses to meet father

RAWALPINDI: The judicial remand of model Ayyan Ali in the currency smuggling case was extended till May 28.
Ayyan appeared in the banking court for the eighth time on Monday since being arrested from the Islamabad airport in March with $500,000 in her possession while boarding a flight to Dubai.
The court adjourned proceedings on a bail petition filed by Ayyan’s lawyer and a money laundering reference by Customs intelligence.
After proceedings Ayyan met with her lawyers but refused to meet her father Raja Hafeez who told reporters that his family had relations with former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto and not only Asif Ali Zardari.
Ayyan’s farther further said he wanted to meet his daughter but the police were not allowing this. He added that facts about the case would be revealed after he meets Ayyan.
