LHC dismisses 24-year-old illegal assets case against PM Nawaz
ISLAMABAD: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday disposed of a 24-year-old case seeking lifetime disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on accusations of illegally amassing foreign assets by plundering the national exchequer.

ISLAMABAD: The Lahore High Court on Wednesday disposed of a 24-year-old case seeking lifetime disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on accusations of illegally amassing foreign assets by plundering the national exchequer.
The case was originally filed in 1991 by Barrister Javed Iqbal Jafri who alleged that then-prime minister Sharif laundered money out of Pakistan after using his influence to illegally allot government land and plunder the national exchequer.
Hearing the case today, an LHC five-member full bench declared the petition non-maintainable and disposed of the case.
The five-member bench comprised Justice Muhammad Qasim Khan, Justice Ayesha A Malik, Justice Faisal Zaman, Justice Mirza Waqas Raoof and was headed by Justice Farrukh Irfan Khan.
