LAHORE: 22-year-old model Iqra Saeed, who had travelled to Lahore from Karachi in order to pursue a career in modelling, passed away Tuesday under mysterious circumstances.
According to doctors, Saeed was drugged before she was left at the hospital by three men - identified as Usman, Hasan Butt, and Umar Raza Butt, all of whom are said to be residents of Lahore's Gulshan-e-Ravi area.
The men had fled after leaving Saeed at the Government Teaching Hospital Shahdara two days ago reportedly.
As Saeed's body was shifted to the morgue for post-mortem, doctors believe that the deceased was given some sort of sedative that caused her death.
Meanwhile, police said that an FIR has been filed against the three men and that they are investigating the case.
As per the initial investigation conducted by Shahdara Police station, a call was made from the hospital to the police a couple of days ago informing them about the model being brought in.
“According to our investigation, the model had been forcefully intoxicated by the three men that dropped her off at the hospital – Usman Rafique, Umer Butt and Hassan Butt," said the police.
It was further revealed that Saeed's identity was confirmed using her phone.
“We spoke to her father who revealed that she was from Karachi but had moved to Lahore to work as a model against her parents’ will,” the police added.
“We have registered an FIR against the three men who dropped Iqra off a the hospital. We can only provide you with further details after their arrest. However, we can state that it seems like a murder case," it said.
