ISLAMABAD: Federal information minister Fawad Chaudhry held former prime ministers Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari accountable for the challenges the country is presently engulfed in.
Talking to the media on Friday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader stated that the raid at Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) president Shehbaz Sharif’s residence by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was lawful while the process was stalled adding that the course of accountability cannot come to a standstill.
He went on to condemn Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari as well as Hamza Shehbaz saying properties were kept in their names by their fathers to escape accountability.
“Ask these people running the ‘Abu Bachao’ campaign, where is their money coming from? They don’t have any sources of income, yet they live like Arab kings. It is in people’s interest that they are taken to their logical conclusion,” he stated.
Earlier on Friday, the PML-N leader’s house was raided by NAB in Model Town to take into custody Hamza Shehbaz in reference to alleged money laundering and possession of assets beyond means.
