RAWALPINDI: Model Ayyan Ali’s flat in Karachi is to be confiscated and auctioned off with money going into the national treasury, upon the orders of a special customs court on Tuesday.
As per reports, it was announced on Tuesday by Customs Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta that the model’s property -Flat no. 804 will be getting seized and will be auctioned off with the money getting placed into the national treasury.
A special customs court had declared the model a proclaimed offender on March 9, after she failed to appear before the court in reference to the currency smuggling case she was involved in, despite multiple letters issued to her and two-month deadline given to her.
Ali’s absence had been perpetual despite the continuous bailable and non-bailable arrest warrants issued to her by Judge Arshad Hussain Bhutta.
She was arrested earlier in March of 2015 from Benazir Bhutto International Airport’s VIP lounge in Islamabad over money laundering charges ahead of her Dubai-bound flight.
