Farooq Sattar declared not guilty in loudspeaker act violation case

KARACHI: Former leader of Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) Farooq Sattar was acquitted on Saturday by a session court in reference to the breach of the Loudspeaker Act case.

The Member National Assembly (MNA) had been charged in regards to the case last year on October 3, 2019 to which had pleaded not guilty.

New Town Police Station had filed a case against him in Soldier bazaar in 2015 over the breach of the Loudspkeaer Act after he launched a demonstration on the shortage of water using a loudspeaker in the red zone.

The senior politician had later in June, turned to court to seek bail in the case.

Apart from him, MQM-P leaders Wasay Jalil, Faisal Sabzwari, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Haider Abbas Rizvi and Nasreen Jalil had also been charged, amongst which Siddiqui and Rizvi were named absconders in the same case under the Section 144 of Pakistan Penal Code.
