ISLAMABAD: Height restrictions of high-rise structures in the capital will no longer be required after the approval of the federal cabinet on Tuesday.

As per reports, minister of information Fawad Chaudhry stated at a press conference that height restrictions have been abolished as the Capital Development Authority (CDA) was directed that cities should be made in a vertical motion.

The government had also issued directives to the CDA and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) to put forth a plan to allow the construction high-rise buildings.

Chaudhry went on to say that NOCs (non-objection certificate) would no longer be required by industrialists before the raising skyscrapers while adding that he hopes the decision brings about more investment opportunities in the country.

Prime Minister Imran Khan had decided to raise structures vertically in Islamabad given the increasing population, while also making sure that the city remains green.
