Pakistan Day photo exhibition held at Sichuan Library

In order to befittingly celebrate the National Day, Pakistan Consulate-General in Chengdu organized a photo exhibition at the premier Sichuan Library, Saturday.

Sichuan Library is one of the most prestigious institutions in Southwest China’s province of Sichuan. It is a huge modern complex visited by seven thousand persons daily.

At the inauguration ceremony of week-long exhibition, Consul General Muhammad Mudassir Tipu thanked the provincial authorities for providing such an excellent space to celebrate the special day.

“We are extremely grateful to the Sichuan Government and it will go a long way in promoting Pakistan’s friendship with China and reinforce people-to-people ties,” Tipu said.

The exhibition includes various photos depicting affinity between the leaderships of both the brotherly countries; strength of Pakistan-China ties; as well as beauty and culture of Pakistan.

The CG also underlined that, “Pakistan’s trade with Sichuan has gone up considerably. More students from Pakistan are studying at universities in Sichuan; more Pakistan Centres have opened in the region. Our co-operation in co-production of JF-17 Thunder has also entered a new and dynamic phase. Sichuan’s companies are investing in various projects in Pakistan.”

The inauguration was attended by the Pakistan Air Force team based in Chengdu led by Air Commodore Farooq Zamir Afridi; members of Pakistani Mission; Chinese media; students and people from various walks of life.

Director General of Sichuan Library, He Guanglun, speaking at the occasion said, “we are delighted to hold Pakistan Exhibition at our premises. Exhibition will provide a unique and incredible opportunity to the people of Sichuan to learn more about Pakistan. It will also be a step in the right direction to reinforce cultural and intellectual ties between two iron brothers. We are thankful to the Consul General for choosing our premises to hold the Exhibition”.
