ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has condemned assassination attempt on eminent religious scholar Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani in Karachi.
PM Imran, in a statement, said attack on Mufti Taqi Usmani is a serious conspiracy and every effort will be made to expose this.
He said, “Religious scholars like Mufti Taqi Usmani are asset of not only Pakistan but the entire Muslim world.”
Imran Khan urged the provincial governments to ensure foolproof security of Ulema.
The Prime Minister, however, expressed satisfaction on reports that Mufti Taqi Usmani remained safe in the attack and expressed grief over the demise of his security guard.
Renowned Islamic scholar Mufti Taqi Usmani survived an assassination attempt on Friday when he was attacked by gunmen near Neepa Chowrangi on Friday.
According to reports, two Darul Uloom Korangi cars came under attack in Karachi which killed two people and injured as many.
