ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Monday vowed that his party would bring the arrested killers of slain PTI leader Zahra Shahid to justice – two years after the senior leader was gunned down in Karachi.
60-year-old Shahid, a former senior vice president of the PTI's Sindh chapter and a founding member of the party, was shot dead on May 18, 2013 near her residence in Karachi when she was returning from a protest against alleged rigging in the 2013 general elections.
Monday marks exactly two years since Shahid's assassination, which came on the eve of a closely-fought partial reelection in Karachi's NA-250 constituency.
In messages posted today on micro-blogging site Twitter, PTI chairman Imran Khan lauded the slain leader for her strength and determination and said his party would ensure her killers are brought to justice.
