ISLAMABAD: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has warned Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government, saying if the government continued blackmailing, it will be responsible for the consequences.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad here Wednesday, Bilawal demanded action against banned outfits.
He went on to say “Until three federal ministers sever ties with proscribed organization, no one will take actions under National Action Plan serious.”
Bilawal also demanded to form National Security Committee.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari went on to say he believed in the rule of law and he was happy to present himself for a free and fair investigation.
There should be an across the board accountability.
He demanded release of PPP workers, who were arrested by the police while trying to enter the NAB office.
He said he had not given any call for protest as the workers had gathered on their own, he added.
Bilawal reiterated that the PPP believed in the rule of law and the supremacy of judiciary.
He was handed over a questionnaire, which he would respond after consulting his legal team, he added.
Bilawal claimed that he was only one year when he was made a shareholder in the company in question.
He had no involvement in the company's affairs except being its shareholder, he added.
He questioned transferring of the said cases against them, which were registered in Karachi and heard by a banking court there, to NAB Rawalpindi.
Bilawal alleged that NAB was used as a tool by former president General (retd) Pervez Musharraf for political engineering.
The PPP during its government could not end the NAB law, he added.
He said no one should be arrested before proper investigation into allegations against him or her.
To a question, he said military courts were not a long term solution to curb extremism and terrorism.
