PM Imran talks to old woman on video call after her plea went viral on internet
Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice of a video showcasing an old woman requesting to be provided with a house as she has no other option left, after her husband passed away, than living in the woods.
ISLAMABAD: Taking prompt notice of an elderly, extremely poor woman appealing to the government to provide her a shelter, Prime Minister Imran Khan has promised the destitute lady for due arrangements to be made accordingly.
In a tweet posted on Sunday, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad wrote:
The Prime Minister of Pakistan has personally called the lady. She talked to him on video call. Directions have been received. MD Baitul Mal is on site and resolving all the issues Alhamdolillah."
The deputy had replied to a video posted by a Twitter user, showcasing the old woman appealing to the premier to provide her with the basic amenity of a house.
The video shows the woman addressing PM Imran while requesting to him to provide her a house as she has no other option left, after her husband passed away, than to live in the woods.
Due to abject poverty the woman spends her days and nights under the open skies, in the outskirts of Islamabad, near the Bhara Kahu valley, the video went on to reveal.
The user had also urged Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf MNA Ali Awan to take necessary measures to help the woman in need.
