Pakistan flag to be lowered in honour of the victims of the New Zealand terrorist attack which saw nine Pakistani nationals kileld on Friday.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan flag will fly at half-mast on Monday in honor of victims of New Zealand terrorist attack, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said on Sunday.

Addressing a press conference, the minister called Naeem Rashid brave son of the nation who lost his life while confronting the terrorist.

 He said the martyr would be honored with a National Award on March 23.

The foreign minister said  preliminary investigation into the terrorist attack suggests that  it was carried out by  one person.

He said the assault on two mosques continued for 36 minutes .

Talking about the Pakistani-origin victims, he said  six families have decided to bury their martyrs in New Zealand.

Qureshi  said he has spokesman to his Turkish counterpart  on the tragedy and the OIC was due to discuss the increasing Islamophobia during its meeting on March 22.
