ISLAMABAD: Urging for an apolitical police force in Karachi, Amir Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sirajul Haq on Sunday said that ‘a party’ has recruited thousands in the police department on political grounds.
Speaking during an Ulema Convention, he said that a unanimous education syllabus till tenth grade in the country was more important than the ‘atomic bomb’.
The JI amir also demanded formation of a ‘truth commission’ that was free from the political and state’s pressure and can put truth behind incidents relating to terrorism in front of the masses.
Haq said that the federal and provincial governments have spent a two-year-long ‘honeymoon period’, adding that the time was now ripe to give the masses a relief from power loadshedding.
The JI amir also urged for maximum allocation for education after defence in the upcoming budget for the year 2015-16.
