DG ISPR thanks Daren Sammy: ‘It’s always a pleasure to have you around’

DG ISPR thanked Daren Sammy. West Indian cricketer along with Chairman Javed Afridi visited the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi on Sunday.

RAWALPINDI: Military Spokesman Major General Asif Ghafoor has thanked Daren Sammy, West Indian player and captain of Peshawar Zalmi for his the great gesture last night at the tomb of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah the ‘Father of the Nation’.

Director General Inter services Public Relations (DG ISPR) took to Twitter sharing photo of Daren Sammy holding Pakistani flag at the mausoleum and welcomed him to Karachi, Pakistan.

“Welcome back dear Daren Sammy,” DG ISPR tweeted.

He went on to say, “It’s always a pleasure to have you around. Special thanks for the great gesture last night at the tomb of our ‘Father of the Nation’. We greatly value and appreciate.”

Daren Sammy along with Chairman Javed Afridi visited the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi on Sunday.

West Indies cricket star paid homage to the great leader and the founder of Pakistan, saying: "It was an honour to pay my respects to the great man".

Daren Sammy, who won the T20 world cup for West Indies, was amazed by the design of the mausoleum and its beautiful white colour. He also visited the museum of Quaid's belongings and learnt a lot about the great man.

The Caribbean cricketer also shared his words and said : "Quaid was a great man and one of his famous quotes - unity, faith and discipline - are the three words that I live by. It was an honour to pay my respects to a great leader and visionary who paved way for the nation of Pakistan."

Taking to twitter, clara's boy wrote: "I am extremely honored to have visited the tomb of Mohammad Ali Jinnah founder and father of this great nation."
