Prime suspect of Afzal Kohistani murder arrested
Afzal Kohistani, a resident of Kohistan, had claimed that the girls from dancing video were murdered.
ABBOTTABAD: Police have arrested prime suspect of Afzal Kohistani, known as the whistle-blower of Kohistan video scandal.
KP Information Minister Shaukat Yousufzai told Geo News that Masoom Khan, the suspect nominated in the FIR of Kohistani's murder, has been arrested and a Kalashnikov and cartridges have also been recovered from his possession.
He said raids were being conducted to arrest other suspects.
The minister said chief minister had taken notice of the incident and ordered the police to immediately arrest the suspects.
"Government will provide justice to Afzal Kohistani's family".
Kohistani was shot dead in Abbottabad when he was going to court to attend hearing of murder case of his brother.
Background
A video of four girls dancing with boys at a wedding ceremony had emerged in 2012.
Afzal Kohistani, a resident of Kohistan, had claimed that the girls from dancing video were stabbed to death.
Two brothers of Afzal Kohistani were killed after the revelations.
